If a member of the cast were to miss one week of performance, would that be acceptable to the director/theater? Are understudies cast in all performances?
LifeHouse Theater says
We generally try to cast actors who can do the full run, but we often will cast actors with understudies if we know up front that they may have to miss a show
Nicole says
When are the auditions?
LifeHouse Theater says
Please see our Auditions page for all details pertaining to auditions.
Sarah Wasson says
What songs do you guys suggest doing for an audition?
LifeHouse Theater says
We suggest either songs from the production you are auditioning for or something classic. Many of the new Broadway musicals are very difficult for pianists to play and may not showcase your talent in the best way.
Claudette says
Where might I find a rehearsal schedule for “Mary Poppins” opening in June 2019?
LifeHouse Theater says
General rehearsal schedules are posted at auditions. More specific rehearsal schedules are given to the cast at the first rehearsal.
LifeHouse Theater says
Generally rehearsals are Tuesdays – Thursdays until the final two weeks.
VSmith says
Thank you! I was curious about this as well. When would rehearsals start?
Lee says
Will Mary Poppins include songs from the Disney movie or only original songs?
LifeHouse Theater says
This is the Broadway version of Disney’s “Mary Poppins” so it will contain the songs from the Broadway production which includes the Disney movie classics such as “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”
Hannah Rossie says
What is the expected run time of the show?
LifeHouse Theater says
The show runs approximately 2 hours 15 minutes depending on intermission.
Steven London says
Hello, I was just curios about your casting? Love to perform, but I recently tried out for a part at the theater on Barton. It was about a person with short term memory (comedy),,and from a head injury that I had as a youth, I’ve had short term memory problem. I memorized the whole script and auditioned for the part. But, I didn’t get the part. So I thought I would find out if you took auditions from people, even if they have a handicap?
LifeHouse Theater says
We allow any and all to come audition. We love to be as inclusive as possible and do all we can toward the goal. Casting truly depends on the needs of the show and the talent displayed through auditions.
