Hi! I have been acting since I was six (I am 16 now) and was interested in auditioning for Phantom of the Opera, when the audition date comes. But I was wondering when more information will be sent out about it; rehearsal dates, where to rehearse, tech week dates, audition requirements, etc. So so excited about this show, as a coloratura soprano and someone who loves this show, opportunities to audition for this show are none existent. Can’t wait!! (:
LifeHouse Theater says
You should be aware that this is not the Andrew Lloyd Webber production. This is an original production with our theater. This is our third time producing it to much success.

How does Lifehouse production of Phantom differ from the ALW production?
LifeHouse Theater says
Our version follows the original source material a bit more closely and explains the backstory of Christine, which helps explain how she is fooled into following the Phantom.

This show was well done. But it was advertised as the Phantom of the Opera which is my favorite musical. I was looking forward to hearing the songs that I enjoy so much like think of me, music of the night, and all I ask of you. Instead I saw a show that was 90 percent altered and not one of the songs were sung. This is the biggest bait and switch I have ever experienced. I feel like they advertised a Beatles tribute show then played disco music. If I pay for a steak dinner, I expect a steak dinner, not lasagna. Even though the lasagna was cooked well, it was not what I paid for. They should have advertised this show as Christine meets the phantom or something like that. If I bought my tickets to see a musical that I did not know what to expect. Then I would say that I saw a wonderful show. But I paid to see the Phantom of the Opera and this show was not the Phantom of the Opera. I was very much disappointed.
LifeHouse Theater says
I’m sorry you felt that way Rick. But I must take issue with your bait and switch comment. At no time have we EVER advertised or implied that our version was the Andrew Lloyd Webber version. While it is the most well-know version of the story, it is not the only one out there. There are at least 4 other productions, including ours, that tell the story of “The Phantom of the Opera” in musical theater form. In fact, our version is closer to the source material than Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version. The Andrew Lloyd Webber version is not available to community theater to perform. It is only done on Broadway and in professional touring productions. All the music is copyrighted and may not be performed without permission. This is our third time producing Wayne R. Scott’s version of the story, previously being done to much critical and audience acclaim. We are blessed that the vast majority of our audiences have praised our musical.
